The collection works best, like the previous two collections, when the stories are simple, but effectively so when the charm and emotional impact really comes through. Like with the other collections, there is bags of charm in all the shorts and 'Lou' particularly because of the subject has a lot of genuine emotion without being too sentimental. They are the most effectively scored too.

From start to finish the animation is beautifully done, especially 'Piper' and 'The Blue Umbrella'. Know a lot of people who hated it and was mixed myself on it finding it cute but repetitive. Thought it beautifully animated, cute and amiable but the song is a love it or hate it one. Of the collection, of the three "divisive" short films the one with the most understandable divisiveness is 'Lava'. Hate that to me was rather over the top, though it was more understandable in 'Bao's' case as it was down to one moment that did evoke a strong reaction when seeing it in the cinema but still shouldn't have brought the short's quality down that much. 'Sanjay's Super Team' and 'Bao' both received a good deal of hate here when first released. That and 'The Blue Umbrella' were the shorts that resonated with me most emotionally. The biggest example of the short film to be better than the film it accompanied in this collection being 'Lou', didn't care for 'Cars 3' but loved 'Lou'. It is also one of the biggest example of all the Pixar short films for the short film to be better (much better in 'Piper's' case) than the film it accompanied, despite liking 'Finding Dory'. 'Piper', my favourite Pixar short film since 'Presto', is my clear favourite of the collection and of the cinema-released ones, one of the best animated Pixar short films while very sweet, very charming with a truly endearing main character. All three are well worth watching, great even, but there are a few "controversial" ones here, can understand why but don't agree with the controversy. Personally don't agree with this, to me the first collection is the best of the three with the highest number of outstanding short films and with it containing some of the best (and most ground-breaking) work Pixar ever did.

Have noticed that the ratings for the three collections here as of now increased with each collection. In terms of the short films, they are often almost as good or equal to the feature films they accompany beforehand. All of them, even the lesser ones, are wonderfully animated, are immensely charming and the best of them have funny moments, touching ones and endearing characters that stay in the mind forever. Am a great fan of Pixar, short films and feature length films.
